Uk born players who had been called up in the Uganda cranes provisional squad all dropped.

The quadruple based in the UK that had been summoned by the Uganda cranes coach for the AFCON qualifiers have all been dropped as head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ named the traveling squad on Saturday 28th May 2022.

Forwards Ibrah Sekajja, Nathan Odokonyero, and Tirhys Luknyomoi who feature for Dulwich Hamlet FC, Bognor Regis FC, and AFC Port Chester FC respectively, and goalkeeper Giouse Bellagambi of Huddersfield Town have all missed the cut.

Micho had initially warned that they were all under evaluation and that none was guaranteed a spot.

The Serbian named 16 players from the squad that has been training locally for about a week.

The Uganda cranes players will camp in Tunisia for about four days to get used to the weather in North Africa, before they finally set off for Oran, Algeria.

The match against the latter is on June 4 before they face Niger four days later at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The other dropped four players  are local based and these include Moses Aliro,(Wakiso giants), Najib Yiga(vipers SC), Denis Otim (Express FC) and Rogers Mato of KCCA FC have all been directed to keep in the local camp at Kisasi Paradise Hotel, as they ready themselves for Niger.

Eight foreign-based players will join the rest of the squad in camp in Tunisia.

Goalkeepers: Charles Lukwago, Nafian Alionzi

Defenders: Gavin Kizito Mugweri, Halid Lwaliwa, Isaac Muleme, Enoch Walusimbi, Musa Ramathan, James Begisa Penz.

Midfielders: Bobosi Byaruhanga, Marvin Joseph Youngman.

Forwards: Milton Karisa, Martin Kizza, Faruku Miya, Emmanuel Okwi, Joseph Fahad Bayo, Muhammad Shaban.
