StarTimes Uganda Premier League newcomers Kitara FC picked maximum points against 16-times league champions SC Villa on the opening day of the new season at Wankulukuku Stadium.
Last season’s FUFA Big League top scorer Denis Omedi scored in the 15th minute to open the scoring before ‘the jogoos’ Charles Lwanga cancelled it at the stroke of half time.

Elvis Ngondwe gave the visitors the win on a silver platter after scoring an own goal as he attempted to stop Kabon Livingstone’s attempt.
SC Villa treated the audience to some entertainment, courtesy of Ziza Bafana. The former Uganda Cranes Micho Sredojevic joined the club president Omar Mandela in the stands.
