Vipers SC resume their title hunt in the Startimes Premier League this evening with a short trip to the Arena of Visions to play URA FC.
The Venoms want to build from their 2-0 win at Mbarara City in their previous fixture while the tax collectors want to bounce back to winning ways after a 2-0 loss to BUL FC in Jinja.
URA are 3rd on the log at 43 points with more games played (24) than today’s opponents Vipers who are the current table leaders with 52 points in 22 games.
The tax collectors have a superior record on the Venoms with 16 wins, 12 draws and six losses in 34 meetings with Vipers last defeat being a 1-0 loss at St Mary’s Stadium last December in their reverse fixture.
Vipers SC could extend their top of the table lead to nine points after their rivals KCCA FC’s goalless draw at Arua Hill SC yesterday in Lugogo while maximum points for URA FC could take them upto the 2nd place on goal difference.
“Tomorrow’s (Today) match isn’t a regular match. It’s a special match between two top clubs in the League.”- Vipers SC Assistant Coach Marcelo Cardoso during his pre match interview.
“In the first match,we lost our match against today’s opponents, so we have an opportunity to play well to show the people that we’re their to win the championship title, that’s the major objective..” He added.
