Arua City – West Nile Province have named a 27-man squad for the 2022 edition of the FUFA Drum.

Muhammad Shaban (currently with the Uganda Cranes) has been included in the group despite having missed the weekend trip to Masindi, where they drew with Bunyoro Province in a friendly on Saturday, while goalkeeper Omedwa Rogers is on the shortlist despite deputising Enyama at Arua Hill SC.

Young star Rashid Kawawa, who was omitted by Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic for the Western Uganda Regional Tour, is also in the team in addition to other young stars John Rogers (Onduparaka FC), Oscar Mawa (SC Villa) and Iddi Abdul wahid (SC Villa).

Arua Hill SC duo Toha Rashid and Geriga Atendele have been named in the squad amid speculation around their nationality. The two defenders recently switched allegiance to South Sudan prompting public skepticism over their nationality. However, FUFA Excom member Ariga Rasul clarified that the two defenders are illegible to play for West Nile Province.

West Nile Province started residential training on Monday. Dudu Bosco’s team are due to face Karamoja at Greenlight stadium, Arua city on Friday.
