Yusuf Wasswa joins URA FC on a free transfer from UPDF FC
Tuesday – Yusuf Wasswa has completed a move to Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) on a free transfer. URA FC have been in the market for goalkeeper to replace James Alitho who has been ruled out of the 2022/23 football season with a long term knee injury.
The former SC Villa custodian has signed a two-year deal with the tax collectors, joining first choice Alionzi Nafian and Hannington Ssebalunyo in the goalkeeping department.
URA FC Statement:
“URA FC confirms that Goal Keeper Yusuf Wasswa has joined URA FC on a free transfer. Wasswa has been undergoing trials at the club’s training ground in the past 6 weeks. He has impressed the coaching team with his work ethics and goal keeping skills. He also successfully passed medical tests undertaken by the clubs medical team.”
Wasswa helped UPDF finish 10th after registering seven clean sheets during the 2021/22 StarTimes Uganda Premier League campaign.
The sharp custodian is a familiar face in the Uganda Premier League having featured for UPDF, Onduparaka FC and SC Villa.
