West Nile 1- 0 Acholi Province
Sunday – West Nile Province picked up a narrow 1-0 win over Acholi in the first leg of the FUFA Drum semi-final match played at Greenlight stadium.
Substitue Bida Ezra scored the only goal of the evening as the Elephants fell to the White Rhinos in Arua.
Acholi were a much better side in the first 45 minutes, however, they failed to convert their chances.
West Nile Province were more on the receiving end. However, the latter improved after the half-hour mark.
Acholi Province will host West Nile on 10th December for the return leg of the FUFA Drum semi-final.
RECAP
West Nile’s best opportunity was a freekick hit wide by forward Fahad Bayo.
Wahab’s corner was narrowly headed in by Bright Vuni but the ball landed at the fee of Kawawa Rashid whose shot went wide.
Bida Ezra’s introduction gave life to the West Nile Province attack as they started penetrating more and creating chances.
The home side’s efforts were later rewarded with a goal in the 53rd minute.
