House of Olympians 1-0 Rugabo FC

Thursday – St. Henry’s College Kitovu’s House of Olympians beat Mbarara High School’s Rugabo FC 1-0 in their opening match of the Pepsi Schools’ Alumni Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The scoreline might have read 1-0 but the Olympians totally outplayed the visitors, giving them no hope of stealing a point.

Not only did they stop all of Rugabo’s attacks but also owned all the possession and registered a high total shots at goal.

If there was anything to fault, it is them having to be more clinical in front of goal and turn most of their shots into goals – something that looks like it will start happening soon.

Adding to the brilliant showing, there were many individual class acts all around the pitch. Wansangi Maurice, Baale Francis and Semaganda John Paul were some of those having an outstanding game in the victory.

Unfortunately for the Olympians, midfielder Emmanuel Mugalu was taken off earlier in the game after a shoulder dislocation.

It is still early days but one game in and no loss is a great start for any team in this cut-throat league.
