URA continued their perfect form in the Uganda Premier League with a win over Onduparaka Fc. Goals from skipper Shafiq Kagimu with a double and Mukwala Steven were enough to humble the caterpillars.
The tax collectors started the game on a high tempo with the first attempt on goal coming in the second minute as Mukwala’s shot was collected by Onduaraka’s custodian Tonny Kyamera. They continued with the pressure getting three corners in a space of five minutes.
The caterpillars real attempt came in the 25′ when Malish Jamal got a through ball from Okech and beat Hannington for goal but the flag went up for an offside.
Ojera Joachim fluked a goal for the home side in the 9′ but was cancelled for an offside. URA continued dominating proceedings.
Their persistence finally paid off when striker Mukwala Steven set up Kagimu who put the ball at far post, giving URA the lead.
Mukwala added his own from a free kick after Gasper made a late challenge on Sserudde Moses.
Onduparaka pulled one back through Ajobe who slotted home Jamal Malish’s pass to reduce the gap.
Shafiq Kagimu scored his second of the day through a powerful shot to restore URA’s two goal lead. The skipper slotted home his third but Mukwala who had set him up was flagged offside.
The result means URA have gone four points clear of second placed Vipers SC, extending their winning streak to five.
Meanwhile the loss leaves Onduparaka looking likely to slip into relegation.
