West Nile Province Name FUFA Drum Squad List For Semi-final Return Leg

Wednesday – West Nile Province have named their 22-man FUFA Drum squad ahead of their semi-final return leg against Acholi Province on Saturday 10 December at Pece Stadium in Gulu.

The West Nile Province nicknamed the Rhinos defeated Acholi 1-0 in the first leg of their semi-final clash at Ababet Greenlight stadium on Sunday 14 November.

Substitute Ezra Bida scored the only goal in the 53rd minute, helping the 2018 finalists to an advantage ahead of the return leg.

Dudu Bosco’s side will aim to reach the finals of the FUFA Drum for the second time after the white rhinos achieved the same feet during the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2018.

Bosco will certainly be wanting to do well in this tournament and no surprising names have been left out of his squad.

The two goalkeepers include skipper and URA FC custodian Alionzi Nafian, and Arua Hill’s Anyama Richard. In defence, Dudu Bosco has decided to choose three right-backs, three centre-backs and one left-back. Atendele Geriga, Okocha Rashid, Oyirwoth Daglas, Obenchan Filbert, Amayo Ahmed, Toha Rashid and Vuni Bright Joseph make up the defensive options.

Meanwhile, Gadafi Mohammad Gadinho could have a major role in West Nile’s FUFA Drum campaign, with the midfielder struggling for regular game time in the Uganda Premier League. He is one of seven midfielders, with Iguma Denis, Yakin Rashid, Orombi Ronald, Wahab Gadafi, Abdulahi Rashid and Anukani Bright the others.

Across the forward line, Shaban Mohammad, Rwothomio Cromwell, Dada Ibrahim, Amaku Fred, Bida Ezra and Jarieko James have all been chosen. This will give head coach Bosco the chance to rotate his squad, with West Nile blessed with so many options in those three attacking positions.

Fahad Bayo and Arua Hill SC forward Rashid Kawawa have been left out of the squad. Bayo is reported to be out of the country while Kawawa is not having the best of the season in the league at the moment.
