SC Villa Salvage Point in Hard-Fought Draw Against Busoga United

In a gripping showdown on Matchday 23 of the Startimes Uganda Premier League, SC Villa battled to a 1-1 draw against Busoga United, securing a crucial point in their quest for league dominance.

The Jogoos took the lead in the 19th minute courtesy of a well-taken strike from Charles Lwanga, igniting hopes of a triumphant victory for the visitors.

However, Busoga United showcased resilience, mounting a spirited comeback in the second half. Their efforts were rewarded in the 82nd minute when Moses Logono found the back of the net, leveling the score and setting the stage for a tense finale.

Despite SC Villa’s relentless attacking prowess, they were unable to secure a late winner, ultimately settling for a hard-earned draw.

Reflecting on the match, midfielder Abas Kyeyune acknowledged the team’s missed opportunities but emphasized the importance of building on the valuable point gained.

“We had come for a win but we failed to convert the chances we created. A draw is not bad; however, a point is something we can build on going into the next game.”
