Chelsea and Manchester United earlier on this week sealed their places joining Bayern , Liverpool and Ajax that have all been exceptional as the laters have already sealed top spot in their respective groups.
Ajax wore their Bob Marley inspired kit for the 1st time in the competition but things did start exactly well as Besiktas were awarded a penalty that was converted by the Algerian striker in the first quarter of the match.
However, the turn around was inevitable as Sebastian Haller gave Ajax the lead to seal the comeback joining Erling Haaland in the history books as one of a handful to score on each of their five champions league debut matches .
However all eyes were in Manchester as Psg took on Man city to decide the group leaders and who goes through first as two of the richest clubs in the world met. Due to their impressive 1st leg display, everyone expected City to win and things started well as both sides pressed for the vital goal which seemed to have come if not for some heroic defensive work by Achraf Hakimi. But despite Mbappe putting them forward , Cities dominance counted for something finally as they eventually equalised and took the lead to seal their spot.
Man city and Real Madrid joined the others in the round of 16 ties as Leipzig ended Brugge’s hopes of qualifying hammering them five.
